Last updated on OCTOBER 10, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle Database Vault - Version 10.2.0.4 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
You are using the Database Vault Administration GUI from Internet Explorer and managing Rule Sets and associated Rules, typically this can happen if you are adding an existing rule to a rule set.
The following errors may be attributed to this problem:
error deleting Rule RULE_NAME from Rule Set RULE_SET_NAME,
rule DVSYS.DV$50xx not in rule set DVSYS.DV$50xx
error adding Rule RULE_NAME to Rule Set RULE_SET_NAME unique constraint (DVSYS.RULE_SET_RULE$_UK1) violated
error adding Rule RULE_NAME to Rule Set RULE_SET_NAME, Rule RULE_NAME already added to
Rule Set RULE_SET_NAME
Similar errors have also been reported when managing Realms and Secure Application Roles.
Changes
What is typical about the problem are the following circumstances:
- The errors appear only when using certain versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox *)
- When you re-query, or go back, it appears the required actions have actually been done.
- When you try to configure the equivalent Rules and Rule Sets with API calls it works correctly
*) The behavior changes from browser to browser and also from browser version to version.
