OCI application causing core (BUS_ADRALN) after upgrading Database to 10.2.0.4 (Doc ID 758962.1)

Symptoms

Recently upgraded the database to 10.2.0.4.0

Your on HPUX Itanium 11.x

OCI Application which uses the OCI call for attaching to the server – OCIServerAttach(…) fails (SIGBUS) with the following message:

warning: core file may not match specified executable file.
Core was generated by `some plugin'.
Program terminated with signal 10, Bus error.
BUS_ADRALN - Invalid address alignment. 

 

 The application only fails when compiled using the C++ compiler.  When compiled using the C compiler, the problem does not reproduce. 

Changes

Upgraded database to 10.2.0.4.0
