Memory Leak When Returning Result Set From Stored Procedure (Doc ID 759789.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 28, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle ODBC Driver - Version 11.1.0.6.0 to 11.1.0.6.13
Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
This problem can occur on both the Instant Clients as well as Full Oracle Client installations.
Effects both 11.1.0.6 and 11.1.0.7 setups

Symptoms

When using the instant client oracle odbc driver to return a result set from a stored procedure is resulting in a memory leak.

The memory leak is observed on both instant client odbc driver and the regular Oracle odbc driver. However on the regular Oracle odbc driver it is not leaking as much memory. This problem did not occur on 10.2.0.4.0 Oracle ODBC Driver. This started to occur in 11.1.0.6.0 Oracle ODBC Driver.

During testing it was noticed that part of the memory leak was fixed by applying the 11.1.0.6 Oracle Database Family patch 9 <>. However, it did not completely fix the issue.

Changes

Installed 11.1.0.6.0 Instant Client and Oracle Instant Client ODBC Driver.
