Last updated on FEBRUARY 18, 2009

Applies to:

Oracle Server Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.5
This problem can occur on any platform.
Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.2.0.3

Symptoms

The following errors are captured in the datapump export log:
ORA-39014: One or more workers have prematurely exited.
ORA-39029: worker 1 with process name "<process_name>" prematurely terminated
ORA-31672: Worker process <process_name> died unexpectedly.
Job "SYSTEM"."<job_name>" stopped due to fatal error at <timestamp>
ORA-39014: One or more workers have prematurely exited.

The COMPRESSION parameter has been set to METADATA_ONLY or the parameter has not been set at all which implicitly uses the default value for the COMPRESSION parameter which is also METADATA_ONLY.
