Bug 6739842: Oracle Processes Consume A Lot Of Memory May encounter ora-4030

(Doc ID 763303.1)

Last updated on MARCH 11, 2010

Applies to:

Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: to - Release: 10.2 to 11.1

Unusual memory growth seen in processes when PL/SQL code is looping and doing lookups on ROWID.
A subheap dump will show allocations of  "koh-kghu sessi" and comment "rowid resize heap".

This apparently can leak memory over time and since this is allocated at the 'session' duration it will hang around longer than the PL/SQL block is used.
