Symptoms

After upgrading to 10.2.0.3, the SPATIAL component and the RTREE_INDEX indextype object are  INVALID.

SQL> select comp_id, control, schema, version, status, comp_name from dba_registry where comp_id='SDO';

COMP_ID     VERSION     STATUS     COMP_NAME
----------- ----------- ---------- ----------------
SDO         10.2.0.3.0  INVALID    Spatial


SQL> select object_name, object_type, status from dba_objects where owner='MDSYS' and status <> 'VALID'order by object_name;

OBJECT_NAME OBJECT_TYPE STATUS
----------- ----------- ------

RTREE_INDEX INDEXTYPE   INVALID
