Purpose

Custom Rule-Based Transformations is the method used in Streams which allows the modification to message when a rule in a positive rule set evaluates to TRUE.
Custom Rule-Based Transformations can be used in many applications such as splitting a column into several columns, combining several columns into one column, modifying the contents of a column or modifying the payload of a user message etc…


 

Scope

To be used by Oracle support analysts and replication DBAs to configure Custom Rule-Based Transformations in Streams in Oracle 10.g or higher.
This article discusses the steps to configure Custom Rule-Based Transformations in Streams Streams Replication from one schema to another in the same Oracle database.
