OpenVMS: SQL*Plus Spool File Reports Error SP2-0308: Cannot Close Spool File (Doc ID 783507.1)

Symptoms

Running Oracle release 10.2.0.4 on OpenVMS

After installing the 10.2.0.4 patchset, users are now getting the following error when trying to spool output:

   SP2-0308: cannot close spool file

There is ample disk space available.

This is only happening on disks where OpenVMS disk quotas have been implemented.

Specifically where the remaining available quota is less than 32MB.
