Show Alert in ADRCI Fails With DIA-48216 (Doc ID 784840.1)

Symptoms

Every attempt to run a "show alert" from within the ADRCI command prompt fails with:

DIA-48216: Field Len Exceeds Max Field Length [5] [0] [20] [20]

 

Other possible symptom is core dump with stack trace including following functions:

bgrlrReadStr dbgrlrReadAlertMsg $cold_dbgrxae_alert

 

Changes

An event caused from outside Oracle might have corrupt a file named <log.xml>, located in your <alert> directory pointed by your <diagnostic_dest> init.ora/spfile parameter.
