DBV Fails With ORA-600 [17183] on an ASM Datafile

Symptoms
While attempting to run the DBV utility against an ASM file it fails with an ORA-600 [17183] error:

DBV is ok for other datafiles.
Even after copying the file to the filesystem, DBV will core dump and fail.
