Is the Bug 5249074 Expdp Specific? Or Does It Apply Also To Impdp? (Doc ID 793631.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 07, 2011

Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.5 - Release: 10.2 to 10.2
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

There is a known Data Pump Export bug which describes the following behaviour for expdp:
Datapump export in transportable tablespace mode fails with the following errors when there were many transportable tablespaces specified in
TRANSPORT_TABLESPACES parameter:

ORA-39006: internal error
ORA-39065: unexpected master process exception in DISPATCH
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
ORA-39097: Data Pump job encountered unexpected error -6502

This is <> - expdp errors when many transportable tablespaces defined .
While running a Data Pump Import through network link and using a large list for transport_tablespaces parameter the same error
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small is reported.
Since the <> seems to be expdp specific , we have to clarify if the impdp issue is caused by the same bug.
