ORA-600 [KRFBFINDINCARNATIONS-3] On FLASHBACK Database (Doc ID 793872.1)

Primary and Standby databases 10.2.0.2


Symptoms

The error ORA-600 [KRFBFINDINCARNATIONS-3] when doing flashback after activate the standby , it can be reproduced as follows :

1- Close the standby database.

SQL> ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE CANCEL;

2- Set a flashback restore point

SQL> DROP RESTORE POINT before_application_patch;
     CREATE RESTORE POINT before_application_patch GUARANTEE FLASHBACK DATABASE;

3 - Open the standby database, it is used by the application in a read-only mode (thought we do lock records)

SQL> ALTER DATABASE ACTIVATE STANDBY DATABASE;
     ALTER DATABASE SET STANDBY DATABASE TO MAXIMIZE PERFORMANCE;
     ALTER DATABASE OPEN;
     STARTUP MOUNT FORCE;

4- Flashback to the restore point:

SQL> FLASHBACK DATABASE TO RESTORE POINT before_application_patch;


From the alert log of the standby , you will find the following:

FLASHBACK DATABASE TO RESTORE POINT before_application_patch

Errors in file /optware/oracle/admin/olidbdr2/udump/olidbdr2_ora_90374.trc:
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [krfbFindIncarnations-3], [], [], [], [], [], [], []
ORA-600 signalled during: FLASHBACK DATABASE TO RESTORE POINT
