How To check that OS storage device files pointed to the same storage in both nodes

When installing CRS, device names (e.g. /dev/rdsk/c14t0d0) are sometimes used to point to different partitions and used during the CRS installation. It is necessary to be sure all device names on one node point to a different storage location and that all device names show the same on all nodes.

This paper is intended to give a quick method to check the above.

Warning: the following check can only be done before installing CRS, eg: the OCR and Voting device are not in use, not on an installed cluster. If OCR and Voting device are in use, the following check will overwrite the content, causing disk corruption.
