AWR REPORTS INCORRECT IO STATS FOR TABLESPACES AND DATAFILES (Doc ID 827104.1)

Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.2.0.2.0 to 11.1.0.7.0
This problem can occur on any platform.

Symptoms

During RMAN backup AWR reports shows huge values - more than 100,000 ms -for "Av Rd(ms)" statistic on tablespaces and datafiles.
