Symptoms

Database creation using Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) fails due to invalid permissions on  Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows Server 2008

ORA-48108: invalid value given for the diagnostic_dest init.ora parameter
ORA-48165: user missing read, write, or exec permission on specified ADR Base directory [e:\oracle]
ORA-48188: user missing read, write, or exec permission on specified directory
OSD-00005: additional error information
O/S-Error: (OS 12) The access code is invalid.
