ORA-7445 [koklc_length()+20] When Using a Pipelined Table Function (Doc ID 839349.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 04, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: to
This problem can occur on any platform.

A SQL statement, referencing a package containing a pipelined table function, fails with the following errors in Oracle 11g but runs fine in 9.2 and 10.2:

select * from (table ( pkg_func.getWorkingDays ))
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [koklc_length()+20]

There are no CLOB/LOB referenced in the package but a pipelined table function like:

FUNCTION getWorkingDays (col1 date := null, col2 varchar2 := null ) RETURN pipe_table PIPELINED ;

The call stack trace looks similar to:

... koklc_length pevm_dynclob pevm_I4OPND pfrinstr_I4OPND ...

Sometimes, other asserts can be seen for the same SQL statement, such as:

ORA-7445 [koklc_lob_read_1] or ORA-7445 [koklc_length:bfile]
