Symptoms
Customer receives ORA-30036 error in undo tablespace during RMAN backup:
starting full resync of recovery catalog

RMAN-03002: failure of show command at 03/28/2009 16:39:27
RMAN-03014: implicit resync of recovery catalog failed
RMAN-03009: failure of full resync command on default channel at 03/28/2009 16:39:27
ORA-30036: unable to extend segment by 8 in undo tablespace 'UNDOTBS1'
Error is not reported in alert log and does not generate trace files.
Customer reports slow growth in undo tablespace memory usage.
