Renaming OCR Using "ocrconfig -overwrite" Fails (Doc ID 866102.1)

Symptoms

You have a new storage device, and the ASM environment has been already migrated, but OCR and Voting devices also need to be moved.

For example the old Path begins with /dev/rdsk and new one with /hpap/rdsk. "hpap" is used by HP Multipathing Devices.

Following the instructions from <> OCR / Vote disk Maintenance Operations: (ADD/REMOVE/REPLACE/MOVE), including moving from RAW Devices to Block Devices:
  • Shutdown Oracle Clusterware on all nodes using "crsctl stop crs" as root
  • # ocrconfig -repair ocr /hpap/rdsk/hpap1
  • # ocrconfig -repair ocrmirror /hpap/rdsk/hpap2
  • # ocrconfig -overwrite
The last command wrote the following error messages into ocrconfig_18614.log:
