Oracle 11g 11.1.0.7.0 on HP-UX Itanium 11.23

Symptoms

Multi-threaded Oracle client process that uses OCI to connect to a remote database.  If it looses connectivity with the database, it will try to reconnect; and the client program continues to run.

Program dumps core with the following stack trace, when ADR is enabled.
