Symptoms

Calling dbms_cdc_subscriber from a package/procedure will fail with ORA-31425 error.

For Example :

SQL> create or replace procedure do_it authid definer
as
begin
DBMS_CDC_SUBSCRIBE.EXTEND_WINDOW (SUBSCRIPTION_NAME =>
'my_subscription_no_1');
end;
/
Procedure created.
.
SQL> grant execute on do_it to scott;
.
Grant succeeded.
.
SQL> connect scott/tiger
Connected.
.
SQL> exec sh.do_it;
BEGIN sh.do_it; END;
.
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-31425: subscription does not exist
ORA-6512: at "SYS.DBMS_CDC_SUBSCRIBE", line 41
