Open and Read Errors on Lib Objects Using DG4ODBC on Linux (Doc ID 953173.1)

Symptoms

Using 11.1.0.7 DG4ODBC from Oracle 11.1.0.7, running on a RHEL 4 Linux x86  the following errors can occur on select statements -

ERROR at line 1:
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
[unixODBC][Driver Manager]Can't open lib '/usr/odbc/lib/ivmsss24.so' :
libstdc++.so.6: cannot handle TLS data
ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from SQLSERVER




ERROR at line 1:
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
[unixODBC][Driver Manager]Can't open lib '/usr/odbc/lib/ivmsss24.so' :
libivicu24.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from SQLSERVER

A display of the actual files involved shows they exist and the permissions are correct for any user to access the files -

ls -l /usr/odbc/lib/ivmsss24.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 oradev dba 708740 Apr 13 13:30 /usr/odbc/lib/ivmsss24.so

ls -l /usr/odbc/lib/libivicu24.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 oradev dba 708740 Apr 13 13:30 /usr/odbc/lib/libivicu24.so
