(Doc ID 965965.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 28, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 11.1.0.7 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

This problem was observed on a 11.1.0.7 database on a Solaris SPARC 64-bit server.

The only visible symptoms are ORA-7445 errors, resulting in instance crash.
ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [kkslod()+12] [SIGSEGV][ADDR:0x18] [PC:0x103CBFB4C] [Address not mapped to object] []
...
ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [kgllkdl()+2916] [SIGSEGV][ADDR:0x4010000000000B0] [PC:0x106458104] [Address not mapped to object] []
.......
PMON (ospid: 10337): terminating the instance due to error 602
.........
Instance terminated by PMON, pid = 10337

The function stack from the primary (initial) error looks like this:
ksedst1 <- ksedst <- dbkedDefDump <- ssexhd <- sigacthandler
kkslod kglobld kglobpn kglpim kkqsanjo
kkqsadjo <- kkqsbqjg <- kkqspsum <- kkqsedrv <- kkqsrqb

This error is not likely to be repeating, so when the instance restarts, there is not likely to be a recurrence.

You are likely to see this problem if you are using Materialized views and QUERY_REWRITE is TRUE.
