Last updated on NOVEMBER 05, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Enterprise Search - Version: 10.1.8.2 and later   [Release: and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The SES standard query application doesn't interpret Norwegian language properly in Firefox and IE browsers :

1-In IE7 :
-You can choose languages Norwegian, Bokml (Norway) [nb-NO] and Norwegian, Nynorsk (Norway) [nn-NO]

-Using any of these languages, the SES query application ends up using English phrases/terms.

-The error may be reproduced in IE6 , but a workaround exists (adding 'no' instead of 'nb' or 'nn').
Such a workaround is not possible in IE7.

2- In Firefox:
-You can choose languages Norwegian (no), Norwegian Bokml (nb) and Norwegian Nynorsk (nn).

Only the Norwegian (no) is handled correctly by the SES query application, the other Norwegian languages end up using English phrases/terms.
