Browser Receives Error HTTP 404 when Following SES Result List Links for Folders in a NTFS Location (Doc ID 970759.1)

When using a SES source which is indexing an NTFS filesystem, the crawlers index both documents and folders which is correct. At search time it is possible the result list might contain both files and folders.

If your search results contains a folder hit (for example if you search by the folder name), and you click on the link to open it, the redirecton that SES implements is not able to open the folder and responds with an error HTTP 404 - Not Found.

This problem is reproducible in both Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers.
