Symptoms

Scheduler jobs reported the following errors in the alert log:

Alter session failed: ORA-02097: parameter cannot be modified because specified value is invalid
ORA-01678: parameter db_file_name_convert must be pairs of pattern and replacement strings
ORA-02248: invalid option for ALTER SESSION

Changes

This is known to happen if the database was cloned from another database via RMAN.
The parameters db_file_name_convert and log_file_name_convert may have been added to the ifile.
