Explanation For File Named <LISTENER_NAME>.log.file in ORACLE_HOME/network/log

Symptoms

Found in the the $ORACLE_HOME/network/log directory is a file called <listener_name>.log.size.
The file is 1 byte in size, but contains no information.
If the file is removed, it is regenerated a short while after deletion.
%cd $ORACLE_HOME/network/log
%ls -l
-rw-r--r-- 1 oracle dba 11150307 Sep 29 10:32 listener.log
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1 Aug 13 23:14 listener.log.size
-rw-r--r-- 1 oracle dba 20234785 Dec 21 11:42 listener10g.log
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1 Dec 21 11:41 listener10g.log.size
Above examples are for two listeners called "listener10g" and "listener"

Changes

Enterprise Manager is installed and an emagent monitors the database.
