Symptoms

NOTE: In the images and/or the document content below, the user information and data used represents fictitious data from the Oracle sample schema(s) or Public Documentation delivered with an Oracle database product. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.

When a 11g database is registered within OID, the ORACLE.SECURITY.DN entry in the wallet is still getting generated with DB_NAME instead of DB_UNIQUE_NAME, although in OID DB_UNIQUE_NAME is being used. Furthermore while registering OLS within OID DB_NAME will be used. This behaviour can lead to the following errors while trying to connect to the database using an EUS account:

sqlplus oratestuser1/xxxx
ORA-28043: invalid bind credentials for DB-OID connection
