Last updated on JULY 14, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Projects - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

You receive an AutoAccounting error while running any Project Accounting concurrent process that uses AutoAccounting. (Navigation:  Other -> Requests -> Run).
While the process may complete successfully, upon closer inspection of the Calling AutoAccounting section of your Debug Request Log, you see the following error:

     PA_AA_NULL_SELECTED|RULE|<Auto Accounting Rule name>
Warning in Auto Accounting for line '00000'
In subsequent messages you see something similar to the following:

<Projects Module Name>:  Rejecting because AutoAccounting error
     <Projects Module Name>:  Rejecting ....<reference numbers>.... with code AA_FAIL

The SQL statement for the rule &RULE has selected a row with a NULL value.
You must correct this SQL script for the AutoAccounting rule that is failing.
The navigation path is:  Setup -> AutoAccounting -> Rules.

You will be able to identify the rule causing the problem by examining the Debug Request Log.
