Invoice Print fails with 'Error encountered in InvoiceXMLBuilder for the following transaction: TrxNumber: ....' (Doc ID 1062355.1)

Symptoms

When printing invoices (or viewing via Preview icon) where an external Bill Presentment Architecture (BPA) XML invoice is used, along with a supplementary datasource, the following error is shown in the logfile:
