Interface Trip Stop Completes With Warning After "Curtail Pick" Activity in WMS (Doc ID 1067733.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 30, 2015

Applies to:

Oracle Inventory Management - Version 12.0.4 to 12.0.6 [Release 12]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

You are doing all activities relating to the Picking of Sales Order Shipments via the Warehouse Management (WMS) Mobile Application.

There is a 'Curtail Pick' function built into WMS which allows you to say that a particular Shipment is being picked short.

For example. let's say that the Sales Order is for 2 Packs (20 Eaches).  The Storeman goes to the bin and finds only 15 Eaches, which he Picks.

If the user gives a reason of 'Inadequate Quantity' for the short pick, then he is offered the option to either select from a different Location, or to 'curtail'.

If the user chooses to Curtail for an Item which is Dual Unit of Measure controlled, when that Sales Order is Ship Confirmed the Trip Stop interface will complete with a Warning status, and the logfile will show messages like the following:

INV_RESERVATION_VALIDATE_PVT: After calling validate quantity
INV_RESERVATION_PVT: Return Status after transfer reservations
INV_RESERVATION_PVT: Raising expected error
transfer_reservation l_status ==> E
msg_buffer ==> Inventory - Transfer Reservation has failed with Error : INV INV_INCORRECT_FIXED_VALUE
E:Inventory - Transfer Reservation has failed with Error : INV INV_INCORRECT_FIXED_VALUE

A curtailed Pick works fine through Trip Stop for a non-dual UOM Item.  A full Pick (not curtailed or backordered) works fine for a dual UOM Item.  The problem in Trip Stop only occurs when the Pick has been curtailed, and the Item is dual UOM controlled.
