Receipt Workbench: Deleting Applied Receipt Causes Data Corruption (Doc ID 1071865.1)

Symptoms

After application of <Patch 8575516>, deleting an applied receipt causes invoice data corruption.
No warning is given when deleting applied receipt. Invoices are appearing with zero dollar balance where no payment or adjustment has been applied.
