Ship Unit Dimensions are ignored when selecting equipment in Shipment Planning Process (Doc ID 1083387.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 08, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Management - Version: 6.0.3 and later   [Release: 6 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When assigning an equipment group during the shipment planning process, the ship unit dimensions such as Package Width are not taken into consideration.

For example, An equipment is created with the following constraints:

Effective Volume-324360 cuft
Equipment Length-53 ft
Equipment Width-102 ft
Equipment Height-60 ft

The order contains the following:

Net Volume is 320000 cuft
Package Length is 50 ft
Package width is 104 ft
Package Height is 60 ft

The order still builds a shipment to the equipment created even though the Package Width is 2 ft larger than the equipment allows.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Log into OTM
2. Add an equipment to the constraints tab of the order in which the package width on the order is larger than the equipment allows.
3. Bulk Plan the order
4. Note the order successfully plans to the shipment
