ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small When Manual Alpha-Numeric Is Used for Duplicate Contract Purchase Order (Doc ID 1097713.1)

Symptoms

When using Purchase Order Contracts, it is not possible to copy a contract when the new Order Number  parameter is greater than 20 characters.  The following eror is returned:

ERROR:

oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: validate_header-001: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small


NOTE: The Order Number parameter is available only when Manual Alpha-numeric is used for the Purchase Order Number.

Steps To Reproduce
- Login into the business suite
- Go to AAA Contracts responsibility
- Contracts
- Select a Contract
- Selec 'Duplicate with Attachments'
- Enter the "New Order" value, of course, greater than 20 Chars.
- Application fails with Java error message.
