Enhancement Request: PLM Login Timeout Can Cause Loss of Data (Passivation) (Doc ID 1108454.1)

Goal

Why is Product Information Management (PIM) (also known as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Advanced Product Catalog (APC) and Engineering On-line (EGO) not using Passivation on HTML forms?

In other words - when a user leaves the application running but does not interact, s/he will eventually be logged out. Any unsaved work will be lost, and the user will have to return to the application home page and start anew. Users may see the following error:

Error: Cannot display page
You cannot complete this task because one of the following events caused a loss of page data.
. Your login session has expired.
. A system failure has occurred.


Enhancement Request Details

When users log back into system after 30 minute timeout, users should be taken back to the same HTML form where they left. They are instead shown an error message and they are asked to go to Home screen again. This disrupts users data entry process.
