Service: Why Are There Gaps In Service Request Number Sequence? (Doc ID 1116473.1)

Symptoms


The Service Request numbering sequence has large gaps. Users are unclear why this is.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a new Service Request. The Service Request number is auto generated.
2. Query back all Service Requests created in any particular timeframe and it will be seen that there are gaps in the sequence.
