11i Debrief Error: ORA-01403: 'No Data Found' When Performing A Material Debrief With Alphanumeric Instance Number (Doc ID 1143223.1)

On: version, Debrief / Field Service Report: when attempting to debrief a material, after entering the item code, on navigating to next field, it shows the message error:

ORA-01403: no data found
FRM-40735: WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-06502.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create an instance using non numeric characters in the instance number.
2. Create a service request for this instance number.
3. Create a task for this service request.
4. Debrief the task.
5. Add a material line for an installed base trackable part.
6.Click or press TAB to go to any field and so generate the error message.
