Symptoms

When attempting to update rates on a rate table with name longer than 30 characters the following error occurs.

"ORA-6502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
ORA-6512: at "APPS.CN_RATE_TIERS_T1", line 26 ORA-4088: error during
execution of trigger 'APPS.CN_RATE_TIERS_T1' in Package
CN_MULTI_RATE_SCHEDULES_PVT Procedure Update_Rate"


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

(R) Plan Administrator
(N) Maintain Component Library
Rate Tables
Search for Rate Table where name is longer than 30 characters
Try to update rates
The error message is encountered and changed rates will not get committed
Shorten the rate table name to 30 characters
Try to update rates The changes will be saved
