ED01 in Journal Import when importing descriptive flexfields with validation (Doc ID 116248.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 23, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 11.0.3 to 11.5.10.2 [Release 11 to 11.5.10]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You are importing data from a legacy or 3rd party system into General Ledger.
You are trying to import the descriptive flexfield 'Journals - Journal Entry Line'.

When you run the Journal Import with the 'Without Validation' option checked for Descriptive Flexfields, the import runs successfully.

When you run the Journal Import with the 'With Validation' option checked for Descriptive Flexfields, the Journal Import Execution Report contains the following:

ED01 = The context and attribute values do not form a valid descriptive flexfield for Journals - Journal Entry Lines.

You believe that you have populated the CONTEXT and ATTRIBUTE columns correctly in the GL_INTERFACE table, for the descriptive flexfield.

You are using a table validated value set for one of the descriptive flexfield segments. The Where/Order By clause for this table contains the following:

...
and a.flex_value = substr(:lines.accounting_flexfield,1,4))
