iStore Direct Item Entry Gives Application Error While Uploading Items

An iStore instance fails with the Application Error when any of the item being uploaded from the comma separated variable (csv) file is incorrect.
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. Login to iStore
2. Go to Shopping cart page and launch Direct Item Entry.
3. Try to upload a .csv file with the list of items to be added to the cart.
In the csv file, have an item with incorrect part number (like a minor typographical error, e.g. a space or case incorrect).
When uploading this csv file, iStore generates an application error.
iStore end customers who is uploading 100/ 300/ 500 lines through iStore direct item entry will be stuck when this error is encountered.
There is great manual work involved to see the incorrect data being entered.
A simple typo error involves hours of manual work.
So instead of Application Error, proper error message with the incorrect line details should be displayed.
