12.1 Debrief Error: 'Invalid Serial Number' and 'Cost Line Already Exists For This Charge Line' For CSFUPDATE

Symptoms

Using version 12.1 and performing a Debrief involving a Material issue and a return, the CSFUPDATE (Debrief Posting, (also known as CSF: Update Debrief Lines)) process completes with errors.  When viewing the error message in the CSFUPDATE log the following is displayed:

ERROR
-----------------------
The transaction failed because there was an error.
Transaction processor error.
Invalid Serial Number.
Cost line already Exists for this Charge Line
The transaction failed because there was an error.

Invalid Serial Number.


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. Access the Debrief form
2. Enter 2 material lines, one for a material receipt, the other for a material issue to the customer
3. Attempt to commit the record.

Due to this issue, users cannot complete the debrief using a given serial numbered component.
