(Doc ID 1220073.1)

Applies to:
Oracle Quoting - Version 12.1.3 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Oracle Quoting User Guide R12 states the following with regard to 'Checking Product Availability'
You can check the availability of all products in a quote or the individual
product lines in a quote. Availability is displayed for the following types
of products in a quote:
- Standard items
- Assemble to Order (ATO) and Pick to Order (PTO) model items
- Kit items
For model items, Quoting displays the availability information based on the
availability of the model as well as its components. The components include
mandatory as well as included items.
Notice this makes reference to Kits and Included items, so the user expects
to be able to check the availability of these item types from Quoting.
The problem is that Kit components (the Included Items) are not visible in the Forms Quoting UI.
So that when a Kit is added to the quote and the Kit has components
that are not visible in the Quoting UI, the user is not able to
check the availability of the kits and included items as stated in the User Guide
Example:
1. Bill of Materials (BOM)
---------------------------------
1. MODEL: Item A (PTO - Pick to Order) KIT
1.1 INCLUDED: Item AA (item type INCLUDED)
1.2 INCLUDED: Item AB (item type INCLUDED)
2. Add the Model Item A to a Sales Order
Immediately the items AA and AB are populated on the lines of the Sales Order
select header_id, LINE_NUMBER ,inventory_item_id, ITEM_TYPE_CODE
from oe_order_lines_all
where header_id = 166273
order by LINE_NUMBER
HEADER_ID LINE_NUMBER INVENTORY_ITEM_ID ITEM_TYPE_CODE
---------- ------------ ----------------- --------------
166273 1 285773 MODEL
166273 1 72565 INCLUDED
166273 1 858 INCLUDED
3. Add Model Item A to a Quote. The * appears in the 'Model' field.
When the user clicks 'Configure' and then returns to the quoting UI
the * has disappeared but only the Model Item A is visible in the UI. The Included Items are not visible
The Release 12 Oracle Quoting documentation appears to be incorrect as the functionality in R12 appears not match the documentation
