Pick Wave Move Order Errors With There Is No Default Locator For This Item (Doc ID 125919.1)

FORM: INVTOTRX.FMB - Transact Move Orders
Note applies both to R12 and R11i

Symptoms

When attempting to allocate a Pick Wave Move Order, receive the following message.

-- Error
'There is no default locator for this item'
Followed by:
Error: The material sourcing process failed to create picking suggestions for line &LINE_NUM of move order number &MO_NUMBER

A similar issue was reported under <Bug 14308634> - "Error: The material sourcing process failed to create picking suggestions for line # of move order number XXX, which is the behavior reported in R12, instead of the first error

-- Steps
Navigate to Inventory > MoveOrders > Transact Move Orders
Enter Move Order #: move order number
Click on 'Find'
Select Line
Click on 'Allocate', this is when you get the error message.
