Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Find that Warranty contracts are automatically created even though no warranty item exists on the BOM for the service item.

Expected Behavior
No warranty contract should be created unless it is specified in a BOM.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Select responsibility with access to Order management
Create as sales order in Order management for your product/item, pick release and ship confirm.
Or create an instance in Install Base directly for the item involved.

2. Select responsibility with access to Service Contracts
Open (N) Launch Contracts > Contract navigator > Contracts
Verify that a contract is created.

3. (N) Bills of Material/Bills/Bills
Choose Inventory org
Query the item for which no warranty contract should be created.
Go to main tab and verify no Warranty item is available as a component in the BOM for the item that is shipped with OM or created in IB directly.
