Error Updating an Existing Business Event: Warning! The product specified for this event is not licensed. (Doc ID 1271407.1)

When attempting to update an existing Business Event, the following error is encountered that prevents the subscription from triggering:

Warning! The product specified for this event is not licensed. This event will not be processed.

Other Symptoms

The fix given below is applicable to all business events, whereas this is a specific example from Quoting:

1.  In Quoting , The 'QA Check' screen is not shown , even when the Business Events are activated.  When user wanted to update the Business event , the above error was encountered. Also Quoting debug log states  '0 Subscriptions Found'.

2. One of the query shows LICENSED_FLAG  as "N".

select LICENSED_FLAG  from wf_events  where upper(name) = upper('<event name>');

select LICENSED_FLAG , STATUS , owner_tag, source_type, phase from 
           wf_event_subscriptions where event_filter_guid = (select guid from 
 wf_events where upper(name) = upper('<event name>'));

3. However it is found that LICENSED_FLAG is set as "Y" in the workflow file (Exampe qotbevte.wfx ) that contains the event definition of

    <OWNER_NAME>Oracle Quoting</OWNER_NAME>
    <DISPLAY_NAME>QOT Pre-Submit Entered Order</DISPLAY_NAME>
    <DESCRIPTION>This event is raised before submitting a quote as an order in &apos;Entered&apos; status.</DESCRIPTION>


 Workflow Administrator Web Applications  > Administrator Workflow  > Business Events > Choose an Existing Business Event from Quoting > Update.
