Workflow Purge Program Does Not Purge Records (Doc ID 1279754.1)

If you are running the Purge Obsolete Workflow Items regularly to purge all the workflow items  you would not expect to see unpurged data still present in your workflow tables.   Depending on where you are viewing this data,  you may be looking at misleading information. 

Logon as SYSADMIN user and go to Oracle Applications Manager console / Workflow Manager .  Select 'Throughput / Workflow Items' and view the purgeable column.   This value does not reflect the correct data volume.  
This misleading data can also be seen if you're using SQL to query the num_purgeable column on the wf_item_types table.  

This incorrect data gives the impression that workflow purge is not working.
