Last updated on JUNE 15, 2017
Applies to:Oracle HRMS (Canada) - Version 12 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Basic exemption for 2008 is $3500. Employees who have one employee #, multiple assignments, at least two different payrolls on those assignments, and are paid on both payrolls for an overlapping pay period are granted some Basic CPP exemptions from each payroll. If the employee does not reach the maximum withholding for the year, the system gives them a total Basic Exemption that exceeds $3500 and results in a CPP deficiency. The difference must be made when Revenue Canada sends out the PIER report.
