Symptoms

HTML User Interface

When attempting to search item, the following error occurs.

Error

oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException

   oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException:
    JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. Statement: SELECT * FROM
    (SELECT msiv.inventory_item_id    ,msiv.concatenated_segments inventory_item,icis.description,msiv.primary_uom_code
 
  ## Detail 0 ##
  java.sql.SQLException: ORA-29902: error in executing ODCIIndexStart()
  routine
  ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:
  DRG-51030: wildcard query expansion resulted in too many terms

 

Log File

Eshows error "JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation"

 

Steps to Reproduce

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to Quoting HTML UI
  2. Create Quote
  3. Search Item which has "()" (brackets) to the end, for example, MAWSOPT(AUDIO)
  4. See that UI returns error
