R12: Export TXT Mime Type Cannot be Mapped For Excel (Doc ID 1291324.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 11, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Application Object Library - Version 12.1.3 to 12.1.3 [Release 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Export, .txt. .tsv, browser,Export MIME type, text/tab-separated-values, Excel

After upgrading from E-Business Suite (EBS) 12.0.3 to 12.1.3, with the profile "Export MIME type" set to a value of "text/tab-separated-values", the export file is now created with an extension of ".txt" instead of ".tsv"

The Export function can no longer be configured with the client browser to open the file automatically with an external third party application, such as Excel, without affecting other components or applications.

EBS Export files of the MIME "type text/tab-separated-values" needs a different extension, such as .tsv, so that the browser can be mapped accordingly without affecting other components or applications.

This issue affects Self-Service Framework (JSP) screens.

1) Example for PO (Though this issue occurs in all OAF pages):
1. Log in into Buyers Work bench
2. Click Orders tab
3. Query your orders
4. Hit Export button

2) Example for OIE - File is opened in notepad in .txt. It should be opened in Excel.
1. Log in into Expense Reports
2. Click Expense Reports tab
3. Query the ER
4. Hit Export button

Upgraded from EBS 12.0.3 to 12.1.3
