iStore User Locked After 3rd Attempt even though the profile "“Signon Password Failure Limit” was set to a higher value (Doc ID 1292248.1)

Symptoms

After setting the “Signon Password Failure Limit” profile value as 5 , the iStore users are locked after 3 unsuccessful login attempts and the following error occurs.

ERROR

Invalid username and/or password


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
“Signon Password Failure Limit” profile  set to 5 at site level

The iStore user logged into iStore 3 times with wrong password and the password became invalid and had to be reset
