Mobile Field Service: Why Are Status Transitions Not Followed In MFS Sync Process When Task Updated By The Same User

(Doc ID 1293531.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 09, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Mobile Field Service - Version 11.5.10.2 to 12.2.6 [Release 11.5 to 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When a task is updated from the applications and from PPC, the server update should override the client.
Why is this not happening when the task is updated by the same user in both server and client?

Steps:
    1. Create a new Task with status 'Assigned' (User = JSMITH)
    2. Sync Mobile Client to download the task to the client.
    3. Using same CE's login (JSMITH), change Task status to 'Working' from FSTP
    4. Now change the Task Status to 'Accepted' (as task is showing Assigned on PPC )
    5. Sync the device.

=> Now APPS will show 'Accepted' status.
That means Working transaction (step 3) has been overridden by PPC (only because both updates are done by same user).
